Good Morning Long Island!
You rock! Last night you donated 1564 healthy and nutritious non-perishable food items at Newsdays Press Play event, Starring StrawBerry Fields! This morning the food is already at the food pantry!
In these tough times you continue to come through! Coupled with the 441 donations from The Train and John Mayer show at Jones Beach and food from The NYCB Theatre at Westbury (304 delivered on Monday). we delivered 2309 food items this week! WOW!

I just realized that the Warped Tour was coming to Long Island yesterday – and that Jac Vanek was on tour, selling her amazing bracelets and t-shirts!

Being they’re only 15 minutes away…I knew I had to get over there to meet her and THANK her for supporting rock CAN roll!

With a little help from my friends Bob , Kerry and Ernie in the MONSTER Truck (so cool) I was able to get a ride and get a ticket into the venue in search of Jac!

After walking up countless aisles of booth upon booth of very AWESOME merch, (I really could have bought everything!) I found Jac!

Jac is great as are the amazing folks who work with her! So wonderful to finally meet her and thank her for doing her part to help rock CAN roll ‘BEAT HUNGER’ ! Looking forward to future collaborations!

But wait there’s more! Just when I was walking out, six inches off the ground, after meeting Ernie and Jac, I saw a tent that read LivingTheDream.org . For all of you who know me – of course it is something I would just walk by. So I stopped to ask the gentleman near by, if he knew what it was all about. He told me that Hurley and this group brings kids who are ill out to the Warped Tour in each city they visit! How COOL is that! When I asked if he was with them, his reply, was “No,I’m Kevin, I run the Warped Tour’! My response was, I’m the “mother of rock CAN roll”

and we went on to talk about future potential collaborations!
What are the chances? Life is good and long live rock!

Many thanks to the folks at Newsday and Strawberry Fields and all the FANS for teaming up with rock CAN roll to ‘beat hunger’! Great news! We are planning to have our rock CAN roll volunteer – Chris Young, Long Islands youngest RACE CAR DRIVER -on site with his car for this event! Watch for details and this great opportunity to meet Chris!
