Have a Heart and Feed a Soul this Holiday Season….

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Here are 13 opportunities for your small act of kindness CAN make a significant difference for some people in need.

If you are going to a show at The North Fork Theatre, please, right now,
go and put your tickets next to a bag
with a healthy and nutritious non-perishable food item that you CAN bring and donate!
(Please, just check dates, no dents, no glass)

Imagine, if only 500 people bring 1 item to each show, we would have 6500 food items! This would be a huge help to local emergency
food agencies that are struggling and at times must turn people away! By working together, we CAN beat hunger this Holiday Season!

So, Please, Have a Heart and Feed a Soul this Holiday Season….

Concert goers are asked to bring a Healthy and Nutritious
Non-Perishable food donation to help our neighbours who
live with hunger and in poverty.

We have so much to be thankful for … show you care!

Alliepalooza…

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Allie found us on the internet. She wanted to do something that would focus on the “Mitzvah” as she was becoming a Bat Mitzvah.
With each invitation, she included the following note…

The day of her party, this is what they collected!

Her mom sent the following note…
“Allie did a great job. I was really proud of her. We had a great turn out of food 110 cans of food. We donated to Yad Ezra.
They are able to swap non – kosher food with gleaners food bank and in return they get fruits and vegetables.”

Thanks again to Allie for leading the way, showing the world how easy it is to include rock CAN roll!

By the way..this all took place in Michigan!

Are you planning an event? Why not make it a rock CAN roll event!

peace..

Seeds of Change….

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking to a group of teens from the ‘Seeds of Change’ program, run by the ‘amazing’ Ms. Kelly Vest. The kids have taken rock CAN roll on as a project through out this years program. At each meeting through the end of May 08, they will bring 1 non perishable food donation and tally up their year long collection.
These kids are so enthusiastic, as you can see…they made posters and signs to decorate their collection bin…

These KIDS ROCK!

So…they made their signs, decorated the bin, and asked everyone at the Suffolk Y to support their ‘kick off’ efforts to donate food to people who need it.

ACLD (a developmentally disabled adult program) volunteers picked up and delivered a total of 528 lbs of food! Amazing, eh!

Thanks to all at Seeds of Change, The Suffolk Y and ACLD….you rock!
Wishing you peace…

Paul Anka @ The North Fork Theatre at Westbury….

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

Many thanks to Paul Richards at WHLI and John Williams at B103 for their support of rock CAN roll. Their few words reminding listeners to bring food donations to tonight’s show, certainly paid off!
As you can see everyone CAN ROCK!

There are still 15 shows playing at The North Fork Theatre before the end of the year. The venue seats about 2500 people. Imagine, if only 500 people bring 1 box of cereal to each show…we’d have 7500 boxes of cereal. Each box yields approximately 10 servings…We could provide 75,000 breakfasts!

With YOUR help, it CAN happen!

If you are coming to a show, put your tickets in next to a bag with your food donation!

Wishing you peace…
