Many thanks to the folks who participated and attended the MLK Interfaith Service at St. Hugh in Huntington Station. This was a most moving event, in so many ways! If you missed it, put it on your 2011 calendar. I promise you will leave, walking six inches off the ground. Many thanks to our extraordinary rCr volunteer Leslie (in rCr shirt) for organizing the sorting and counting. Look at what these amazing young ladies who make up Troop 2539 and Samantha CAN do…these girls rock! With the help of their biggest fans (their parents) we collected and stocked the food pantry with 1031 health and nutritious food donations! After they completed the rCr project of restocking the emergency food pantry, the girls joined in to sing ” We Shall Overcome” with all the children in the service.

rCr Founder Aimée with Samantha, holding a donated bottle of sparkling cider! Cheers to all for a job well done! With kids like this leading the way, I am sure the future is in good hands!
Thanks for inviting rCr to participate in this most beautiful event!
In peace…

The Elvis Show may be a drop in the bucket, but it does show how you can make a big difference in someone’s life with just a little effort.”
The Elvis Show will team up again this year with rockCANroll to help collect and distribute the food and proceeds from the show. rockCANroll, Inc., is a volunteer, non profit, hunger relief organization committed to restocking the dwindling shelves of local food pantries, soup kitchens, safe homes and shelters. The concept is simple, the rewards are immense! For a list of most needed foods, go to: www.rockCANroll.org
